Hi Everyone,
News on Juanita still continues to be a mixed bag. She is feeling better, eating better, and seems to be in a better mood; however she has some very serious infections that are not going away as quickly as we would like. The doctors have even contemplated removing more of her leg in order to take car of the infection! Fred has refused to let them do any more amputating and has asked for them to ramp up the antibiotics.
- Pray for the infections to heal up quickly!
- Pray for wisdom for Fred and the family as they have to make tough choices about he care.
- Pray for strength and stamina for Juanita.
- Pray for God's grace, peace, and strength for them!
Blessings,
Pastor Andy

Juanita Update
Hi Again All,
Juanita was moved to the facility in Davis, but due to a UTI she had to be moved back over to Kaiser again for a few days. The hope is that she will be back in Davis very soon. I haven't talked to Fred since this morning so she might already be back.
She is eating better, moving better, and looking better. She still has a lot of rehab left and a lot of new things to learn. Please pray for her health to stabilize so that she can focus on getting stronger and getting home.
There will need to be some big adjustments made in order to bring her home. Fred will have to trade in her Cadillac for a van, the house will need some prep work, and some regular assistance will have to be set up to aid Fred.
I will keep you all informed as to how you can help them out in the weeks to come. For now, just keep praying. It works!
Blessings,
Pastor Andy

Juantia Update- 6/2
Hi All,
Juanita is being discharged from the hospital today! She is scheduled to be transferred to Sierra Nursing Facility in Davis today at 2pm. Not only is she getting out, but they were able to find a nursing facility much closer to home! God keeps answering our prayers. She still has a lot of rehabbing to do, but she's now one step closer to coming home.
Keep praying for her and Fred as they move to the next phase.

Pastor Andy

Juanita Update- June 1st
Hi All,
Juanita continues to make great strides each day. She is still in the hospital, but has already started some rehab and is getting stronger all the time. She is still in the process of being weaned off of the heavy pain medication she was on. That stuff is great when you are hurting, but it is nasty to get out of your system. Please pray for comfort through that process.
She is still on the feeding tube, but has been eating a little bit. Her food intake is much better this time around. Pray that she will be able to be taken off the feeding tube and be able to eat regular food again.
Sometime in the next month she is expected to be transferred to a facility in Folsom that specializes in rehab with people who have lost limbs. She will be there for a few weeks or so until she is strong enough to come home.
God is gracious. He has answered our prayers and healed her up. Keep praying for God's guidance and strength and provision for her and Fred.
Blessings,
Pastor Andy

Juanita Update 5/20/09
Hi Everyone,
Juanita continues to improve day by day. She is currently being weaned off of the heavy pain medication in preparation for her discharge from the hospital! It looks like she might be moved to a nursing facility within the next few weeks. At this point it sounds like the nearest facility that her insurance will pay for is in Folsom. Our desire is for her to be able to be moved to a place here in Woodland instead. Please pray for God to open some doors so that she won't have to be all the way out there in Folsom. Keep praying for healing, comfort, and strength as she moves into a time of rehab.

Good Report- 5-14-09
Hi All,
The news on Juanita is all good today. She is still off the ventilator, she has been moved out of ICU, and she is getting stronger every day! She is still on a feeding tube until her throat recovers from the breathing tube, but she is talking better and feeling better. Her wounds are healing nicely and there is some light at the end of the tunnel finally.
Fred and Juanita enjoy visitors, If you would like to go up and see them Juanita is in room 5506 at the Kaiser on Morse Ave.

Juanita Update- 5/12/09

Hi Everyone,
Juanita was taken off of the ventilator on Sunday. She has been breathing on her own since then. It's been almost 48 hours and she is still going strong! They even moved her out of ICU last night! Her throat still needs to heal up a little so she can start eating real food again, and she is still being closely monitored to make sure her heart and other systems are working right. But at this point things are looking very hopeful again.
Her condition seems to change from week to week and day to day, but with each setback, she still manages to pull out of it. She is a strong lady and has a lot of people praying for her. Keep it up!
